Switzerland has a down-to-earth, true-to-ourselves culture and Americans never cease to surprise us with their presence and attitude. They seem to connect what they do to their personal journey, their background, their purpose and their passion, and weave a powerful story with one important protagonist: “me”. In Switzerland, modesty is a virtue; we like to convince with the facts and are suspicious of exaggerations. What the Swiss might decry as self-centeredness is based on the simple realization that a good pitch requires an emotional hook: Why do I care about something? What is it that drives me?
The Storytelling Camp 2022 is a project of the Swiss Study Foundation enriched with the expertise of Swissnex in San Francisco. The seminar offers a deep-dive into the Silicon Valley ecosystem and mindset. First you will tap into the Silicon Valley mindset and learn the skill-sets of how to construct a captivating story in various contexts. Guided by experts from various fields, you will then craft your own story. At the end of the Storytelling Camp you and the other participants will be able to present your own story in a professional and creative way – ready to convince in the real world.
Note I: In these times, it is hard to predict if travels between Switzerland and the USA will be possible in Summer 2022. The Storytelling Camp 2022 is planned to take place in San Francisco, USA. Otherwise, the participants will gather in a hostel in Switzerland.
Note II: Preceding the ten-day-program in San Francisco there will be a preparatory event in Switzerland to familiarize students with the topic and for a first get to know. Participation at the preparatory event is highly recommended (date to be announced).
